Beyonce Performs “I Was Here” At The U.N.

We imagine that U.N. meetings are pretty boring which is why we’re guessing the General Assembly Hall of United Nations Headquarters in New York was pretty surprised when Beyonce came by on Friday night to perform “I Was Here.”

She performed for World Humanitarian Day, a holiday which pays tribute to aid workers killed in the line of duty around the world and in case you’re not a diplomat, don’t worry, the performance was taped for a broadcast which is set to air on August 19th.

Beyonce also spoke about the event, adding, “I’d like to ask everyone to make sure they’re a part of August 19. It’s such a beautiful, beautiful day and I’d like to honor the 22 people who lost their lives. God bless you all, thanks so much for having me.”
